Day + 5 Rock on!

Claire is visiting this weekend, and we are tearing it up on the "sky lounge". She brought some crayons and coloring books, and, well, a Rock and Roll Attitude. And in this business, Attitude is everything!

As anticipated, my counts are dropping precipitately - my White Cell count is at 0.2 at the moment (it can go as low as 0.0). So all this means is the process is working. Staff are standing by and prepared for any additional support I might need - a transfusion - some antibiotics etc.

And as we speak, there is a cool rain shower passing over the city. I'll keep my eyes open for a rainbow!

  1. Love that picture of Claire! And Mark, it's so good to "hear" your "voice" via the blog. Keep those posts coming; I know many of us are counting on the updates from you and Julie as we think of you so many, many times each and every day. Love, Patti

  2. It was so great to see Julie and Claire yesterday at Artichoke. I really wish I could come up to the Sky Lounge and folk/rock out with you, but I need to stay very far away until I am sure this is not a cold. Sending lots of properly sanitized hugs from us!

  3. mark - your attitude is...well, "infectious" might not be the best characterization...but your positiveness is encouraging.

sending happy thoughts your way this morning...

  4. Hi Mark and Julie -- I was just reading something by a tax professor from Lewis and Clark, and saw a reference to his blog. You'll enjoy it, I think -- lots of good (and bad) stuff about Portland. Who knew, for instance, that a certain Portland police officer blew .19 on a routine traffic stop, that Portland has a new program of curbside composting, or that Artichoke Music on SE Hawthorne Blvd was closing its doors? Not so sure about this guy's politics, but interesting tidbits for sure. Here's the link: http://bojack.org/

Hope Day #6 is going well so far -- thinking of you and sending love -- Patti

  6. Hey rock n roll transplant guy,

You are an animal. Sorry I will miss the girls and I am not there already, but am coming when planned. Wow, .02! 1.0 is my personal record and you are still blogging and playing. You are made of sterner stuff. xxoo

    1. Its like you read my mind! You appear to know so much about this, like you wrote the book in it or something. I think that you could do with some pics to drive the message home a little bit, but other than that, this is great blog. A great read. I will certainly be back.
